About the roleTo lead on the establishment and development of Thiess Institute, taking responsibility for all aspects of project management. The postholder will build and strengthen relationships with all partners and other stakeholders and identify opportunities for developing additional long-term strategic partnerships. To work collaboratively to establish, implement and evaluate key objectives which align to the Institute’s overall vision.In this role, you will:- Develop a comprehensive business plan outlining the Regional Thiess Institute (Institute) mission, vision, and objectives. Conduct market research to identify opportunities and trends in the education sector and mining related industries. Define and implement a strategic roadmap for the successful launch and sustainable growth of the Institute.- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and licensing requirements for educational institutions. Work closely with legal and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and certifications- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop innovative internally facing and market-relevant educational programs. Create a diverse portfolio of courses and programs to meet the needs of a varied target audience. Apply contemporary pedagogical techniques to ensure the desired learning outcomes are achieved through all Institute programs and educational products. Monitor and review all programs and initiatives to ensure ‘excellence’ is attained in maintained.- Develop and manage the institute's budget, including financial forecasting and resource allocation. Establish a fee structure for educational services, considering market competitiveness and financial sustainability. Establish a commercial system that enables fee for service payments and associated processes. Work with Thiess tax team to ensure all in-country and in-company requirements are met and maintained- Identify and establish partnerships with relevant industry stakeholders, educational institutions, and community organizations. Foster relationships with potential clients, ensuring a strong network for future collaborations. Establish collaborative partnerships with key functional stakeholders including HR, HSE, Commercial, IT, Technical Services and Finance Oversee talent and performance management, and manpower planning.- Develop and execute a comprehensive in-country marketing and branding strategy to promote the Institute's offerings. Utilize digital marketing, social media, and traditional channels to increase awareness and exposure. Manage the regional Credly service and maintain compliance with all third-party requirements- Oversee the setup of physical and technological infrastructure required for service and support delivery. Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring the procurement of necessary resources and services- Implement and monitor quality assurance measures to uphold Institute standards. Gather and analyze feedback from students, instructors, and stakeholders to continually improve offerings Establish quality assurance policies. Establish the organisation's mission and values.- Organize and execute events, workshops, and promotional activities to engage the community and attract students. Develop a communications plan which includes guidance on how information will be disseminated across partners/stakeholders. Oversee that marketing, promotional, publicity, communications and digital technology enabled activities are consistent with corporate requirements and adhere to the visual identity guidelines. Oversee the development of the Institute website and delivery of content by the Corporate Communications Manager, ensuring that it provides accurate and clear information for all relevant audiences. Ensure information is kept up to date and conforms to accepted best practice and accessibility requirements. Ensure that the team is taking advantage of all PR opportunities to promoting Institute activities. Represent the Institute at events, alongside the Business Development Managers, where needed, to initiate, develop and manage strategic relationships with outside organisations as appropriate.About you Bachelor's degree in education, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred A minimum of 5 years of experience as Head of Institute or equivalent of a higher education, with a significant portion in academic leadership or management roles, including 3 years of teaching experience. Demonstrated expertise and contributions in the field of the academic department. Strong understanding of accreditation standards and processes. Experience in budget management and resource allocation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in higher education. Proven experience in project management and startup environments. Strong understanding of educational trends, curriculum development, and program delivery. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for educational institutions. Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions to drive the success of the institute Knowledgeable in market and industry developments. A forward-thinking leader. Able to work with partners to get their support. Has strong business knowledge and is able to make calculated decisions.
